A new sport is taking over Central Florida, and it features two sports already beloved by locals in the community. FootGolf is a combination of soccer and golf, where one kicks a soccer ball into set holes instead of using a golf club. There are a few courses around, including one in Clermont, with more courses in the works. Orlando digital marketing expert, On Target Web Solutions, is here to give you the break down on FootGolf and some of the opportunities it is opening up for our community.
FootGolf has rules that are very similar to golf: 18 holes are on the course, and you want to get the ball into the hole with the least amount of kicks possible. One must navigate through different obstacles like trees, ponds, and bunkers. The player with the lowest score wins. The biggest differentiator is the soccer ball and the oversized cup to fit the ball in. Due to its need for minimal equipment and its ease for all fitness levels, this game is a great activity for families! Adrian Heatheven took the Orlando City Soccer team to play a game for a team building experience and a day full of fun. Take a page from his book, and take your company out for a team building day playing FootGolf.
While this game is great for families and team building with employees, it is also becoming more and more popular for competitions and tournaments. If you and your friends are interested in competing for cash prizes, you can check out the Central Florida FootGolf website for more information on how to get involved in this growing sport.
The Orlando community thrives on outdoor activities and encouraging different and diverse sporting opportunities. This awesome sport brings those two areas together, where we can cheer on athletes competing or take a weekend with family to try FootGolf out for ourselves. Who knows? Maybe you’ll even qualify for the FootGolf World Cup like Winter Garden local Steve Krane!
