How Content Transformed a Nonprofit

Stop assuming that simply having a website is enough. You need your website to be seen by potential clients, and creative content is how it’s done. And we’re not just talking about blogs. Go beyond blogging. Use video content, podcasting, social media, white papers, and so much more. Once you lay out the content, you build the trust. Once they trust you, you’ll see growth in traffic, influence, and leads. Just take a look at these nonprofits that were transformed by creative content.

CoorDown

Italy’s National Association of People with Down Syndrome, or CoorDown, released a video, called “Dear Future Mom,” which provides answers for parents who find out their baby has down syndrome. The questions are asked by expectant mothers who are unsure about the condition and what to expect. The comforting message does exactly what content should do: solve a problem for their audience. It has been viewed more than 7.6 million times.

The Sandy Hook Promise

You may remember when Sandy Hook Elementary School released a powerful video about school shootings. The Sandy Hook Promise formed following the aftermath of the tragedy in 2014, with the goal of providing programs that protect children from senseless shootings. The video, which is called “Evan,” follows a teenage boy and his pen pal. While watching Evan throughout the video, you miss the shooter planning his attack in the background. The message is about overlooking warning signs.

How I Built This

National Public Radio, or NPR, is a non-profit media organization that was founded in 1970. Throughout the years, NPR has been releasing quality content to continue staying in the speakers of their audience. With dozens of featured podcasts on their website, they are utilizing audio content to stay relevant and release stories. One of our favorites is “How I Built This” with Guy Raz, who dives into stories about how some of the world’s most popular companies were established. He speaks to innovators, entrepreneurs, and idealists about the movements they created.
